SVBONY SV240 2" NIR Multi-Narrowband Filter – Light Pollution Nebula Filter
The SVBONY SV240 is an advanced 2-inch multi-narrowband astrophotography filter designed to capture a wide variety of deep-sky objects, including galaxies, reflection nebulae, emission nebulae, and star clusters. Unlike conventional dual-band filters that are primarily optimized for emission nebulae, the SV240 combines high transmission of H-alpha, OIII, and H-Beta emission lines with an additional near-infrared (NIR) passband, allowing photographers to record more signal and finer details.
Its multi-bandpass design effectively suppresses urban light pollution and moonlight while maintaining excellent color balance, making it ideal for One-Shot Color (OSC) cameras. The filter performs well under skies ranging from Bortle 1 to heavily light-polluted Bortle 8 conditions, enabling astrophotographers to capture impressive deep-sky images without traveling to dark-sky locations.
The SV240 features premium multilayer coatings, peak transmission exceeding 95% at key wavelengths, and precise optical polishing for excellent image quality. It is especially well suited for modern NIR-sensitive cameras such as those based on Sony IMX585 and IMX464 sensors, offering improved signal-to-noise ratio and enhanced contrast in both visible and near-infrared regions.
Key Features
The SV240 is designed specifically for astrophotography and is capable of operating under heavily light-polluted skies up to Bortle 8, making it a versatile choice for urban astronomers seeking to image a wide range of deep-sky objects with a single filter.
