Twilight I Alt-Az Mount with Heavy Duty Tripod

This isn’t your ordinary altazimuth mount. The Twilight 1 Alt-Az Mount offers a very solid platform for your telescope, whether you are star gazing or viewing terrestrial objects. It also boasts some key feature distinctions which make it stand out from the crowd. Micro-motion controls on both axes (altitude and azimuth) allow super-finite movement control, great for centering and smooth tracking of your target at high power. Additionally, the mount arm angle is adjustable between 90°, 60°, and 30° for optimized daytime observation or stargazing. This versatile range of adjustability allows most attached telescopes to point straight up to the zenith without obstruction.

The The Twilight I Alt-Az Mount itself is made of solid die cast aluminum and comes with a very sturdy stainless steel tripod. Motion in both altitude (up/down) and azimuth (left/right) axes, and the micro-motion control cables allow precision positioning and tracking of both daytime or nighttime targets. The intuitive up/down-left/right motions make the Z-II a great solution for a fast and easy setup, but without compromising the needed stability to use your telescope at higher magnification.

The The Twilight I Alt-Az Mount handily supports equipment loads up to 18 lbs., which exceeds that of almost any photo style field tripod. It’s rock-solid when used with spotting scopes and refractors up to 130mm in aperture, Cassegrains and short reflectors up to 8" in aperture, or DSLR and video cameras. No counterweights are needed, keeping the mount weight to a minimum while still providing ample load capacity.

A large accessory tray is included which features slots for two 1.25” telescope eyepieces, and one 2” telescope eyepiece. Removing the accessory tray allows the tripod legs to fold inward for easy transport. The total mount length is 35.5" with legs retracted and 52" when extended, so it’s easy to take along with you wherever dark skies take you.
