This advance glass filter is a multi purpose filter with many uses

This neodymium glass gives the filter characteristics that are useful in many ways to the observing astronomer with a small telescope up to 150mm (6 inch) aperture. Both side filter surfaces are precision optically polished and carefully antireflection coated to give the best optical results

The filter's uses are describe below: The huge number of refractors manufactured today use focal ratios that are short by traditional value. These suffer from secondary colour (false colour) that shows itself as a violet/blue haze around bright objects and can be quite distracting. The filter will reduce this false colour and thereby improving the image sharpness. All refractors below 150mm will benefits!

Although the filter is not a nebular filter, it has the effect of darkening the sky, increasing the contrast of deep sky galaxies and nebulae. The neodymium filter rejects low-pressure sodium light and several other man made light sources. This filter transmits a broad band of visible light while rejecting those unwanted spectral lines

This filter can be used for enhancing planetary detail, and is specially good on Mars and Jupiter (GRS- Great Red Spot).
