Ambient daylight is normally comprised of multiple wavelengths of light, vibrating in multiple planes. Filter features two polarizing elements which can be rotated relative to each other, varying light transmission from 5-70%. Although light is diminished across the spectrum , this filter effectively increases the contrast on all planets as well as reduces the glare of bright objects. It is specially good on telescopes with spider vanes, as the polarizer can be used to diminish the contrast lost due to diffraction spikes.
